I believe that a poem is always undone. Even after 30 years (would
that I write that long!), a writer should feel comfortable revisiting
their work, making themselves curious by what was presented in those
lines. So a poem is never really completed. However, there are
many moments when a poem is just done enough for you to pause a long
time over it. Those are what I think of as completed poems.
